Welcome to the Civil Service Examination Blog

I am Jed Tedor, a Civil Service Professional Passer and a Registered Electrical Engineer. I took the civil service professional eligibility exam when I was 21 years old, in Cagayan de Oro, Region X on a Sunday morning of July 27, 2008. It was a tiring day overall, I got knocked off in the theatre as I watched The Dark Knight, which was showing at that time. The result was released around October of the same year, I nearly forgot about the exam as I thought I had failed it. It was, after all, very very difficult. About 52,000 took and luckily I am one of the 5, 286 who passed it. It was a very a good feeling to have passed a qualifying exam. To what the exam qualifies for, I didn't know. I took the exam as a practice exam for my upcoming electrical board exam, which I took a year after.

ABOUT THIS BLOG: This Blog post will tackle about the exam process, i'll post my certificate and sample pictures here, I'll post the results and exam schedule. It will talk everything you need to know about passing the civil service examination.. Pls. follow me as I will continue on posting as the days go by. I hope this blog helps those who will take the exams for the first time and help realize the past mistakes for those who have failed it.

Answers to the Number Analogy Problems

Here are the answers to the Number Analogy Part from the Part II of the Civil Service Examination Reviewer. I have explained number 1 and 2 as reference. I am taking my time to answer the word problems too. Do come back for it.

The answer to item 17 is 3) 0.0375

Make sure to review your arithmetics. Numerical analogy requires a lot of division and multiplication and percentage, decimal conversion to fractions, multiplication and division of fractions, cross multiplication, etc. Review simplification of fractions. Don't use calculator while answering the questions. CALCULATORS ARE NOT ALLOWED. Make sure you practice and practice and be very good at it.

    Remember that the 1st two numbers are there to give the relationship between the 1st to the 2nd number and to apply the relationship to the 3rd number to get the 4th one.

    5) "28" is twice of "14", as "___" is twice of "5".. Answer: 10

    6. "1/4" is "1" divided by 4 as "__" is "5/25" divided by 4.. Answer: (5/25)/4 = 5/(25*4) = 5/100 = 1(5)/20(5) , eliminate (5), final answer = 1/20

    7. "7" is "0.35" times 200 as "__" is "0.45" times 200. Answer: 9

    8. "2/18" is "1/3" times 2/6, as "__" is "1/12" times 2/6. Answer: 2/72

    haissst!!!tapos na talaga ang exam yesterday sir...and guess what there were about 2-3 questions lang ang lumabas--hehe...nakakainis lang ang vocabulary kasi meron talagang "never encountered na words...hehe!!!well, i hope makapasa.....!!!sana talaga!!!

    mabuti na yung may tatlo.. sa aking parang isa lang ata.. Yung vocabulary talaga ang hindi ko gusto sa exam kaya nga naghuhula nalang ako, bahala na basta may malagay na answer.. yung mga math problems, sisiw lang ba??

    hmmp,.,..!!!as in talaga! ok lang ang math ...pero meron din akong hindi sure ang ans.
    actually, dun sa mga ratio & proportion wala maxadong lumabas, number series madami!
    ang maremember ko talaga na lumabas sa vocabulary are (melancholy, posit)haha...buti nlang naremember ko din ung meaning.haisst!!pero hindi parin ako mapakali...huhuhu...sana talaga makapasa ako...!!!pls help me by praying...hehe!!!

    that you are helping others to pass the csc exam by providing a reviewer. Actually sir, i clicked on the link "reviewer" and answer" but is says there that the its down and under maintenance. May I know, when will be the availability of these reviewer and answers because i want to take the exam. Thank you.

    scribd is already available.. all the reviewers and those I have answered (bonus reviewers) are always available through sugarsync, try downloading it there.. The link of the instructions is given on the end of this post. If you scroll down, in the popular posts section, it is the second popular post.

    how to pass the cse exam?? stop browsing this site. scam to!! if jed tedor is for real he wouldnt
    give us a hard time in browsing his reviewers. try to copy guys, it wont show. try to download, it wont print. simply because its a SCAM!!

    Sir Jed, una sa lahat maraming salamat sa blog mo na to, year 2000 pa ako nakagraduate at nung magumpisa ako sa pagrereview, lalo na yung sa mga figures na, tulo ang utak ko sa ilong, grabe. Gusto ko rin malaman kung ano ba yung mga dapat dalhin sa actual examination day, bukod sa mga ID, pencil, resibo of payment. Pwede ba magdala ng calculator dun? O baka additional papers para sa solutions ng Math problems?

    No calculators allowed po, lahat manual calculations, so practice lang talaga hangang masanay.. tapos walang allowed na extra paper galing sa labas. Scratch papers will be provided.

    ano po ba ang tamang sagot dito??
    30% is to 3/5 as 60% is to _____
    using the ratio and proportion convention 6/5 or 1 1/5 ang nakuha kong sagot BUT sa answer key ng reviewer 2 3/4 po ang tamang sagot... pls HELP.. thanks

    Hindi lahat ng answer sa reviewer ay tama ser, dapat 30% = 3/10 dun plng mali na.
